At Discovery Academy, our goal is to provide the best academic, social and spiritual environment possible for your child while striving to provide each student and parent with a sense of what it means to be part of a truly caring and sharing academic community. We find that when parents, teachers and children communicate, pray, share ideas and lend support to one another, we are able to do a more effective job of raising a generation of children who will feel more secure and have a better sense of who they are.
Admission to Discovery Academy is based on a broad range of criteria including but not limited to: grade history, recent test scores, physical and immunization records, teacher recommendations, disciplinary history and class size limits. All new students are admitted for a 30-day probationary period where the parent and principal will meet to discuss the child's academic and social standing with the school.
Discovery Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, national or ethnic origin or handicap condition in the admission of students, employment of personnel, administration of education policies or other school programs.
*A handbook will be provided to each parent/guardian along with the enrollment packet.

Uniform Policy
Discovery Academy students are required to purchase our uniforms.

All parents must also ensure their child is properly dressed prior to arrival for classes at Discovery Academy. A copy of the Uniform Policy Agreement must be signed before the student’s first day of school.
While we strive to promote a creative learning environment, we also desire to create a sense of equality and pride in every student. Therefore, the Uniform Policy Agreement must be strictly adhered to or the student may face possible expulsion.
Arrival/Dismissal & Attendance Policy
School Hours are from 8:30am - 2:30pm
Early Dismissal Hours are from 8:30a, - 1:30pm (Early Dismissal occurs the First Wednesday of every month - once a month)
Please note that school arrival times are strictly enforced and parents may not drop off students earlier than 8:00 for Kinder - 8th Grade.
If a student is tardy for any reason, parents will be required to stop by the school office to sign a tardy slip for their child, which will be given to the teacher for attendance purposes. Please understand that excessive tardies and absences throughout the school year may lower a student’s grade.
Attendance Policy will follow State of Florida and Volusia County School Policies. Regular attendance is essential for academic growth.

Before Care Hours: 6:00am - 8:15am
After Care Hours: 2:30pm - 6:00pm
